1.Where is the Museum?
The Maine Lighthouse Museum is One Park Drive in downtown Rockland, Maine.
2. What are the driving directions?
Rockland is about four hours northeast of Boston and less than two hours from Portland.
- From Boston, MA, (189 miles): Take I-95 into the State of Maine. Follow I-95 north to I-295 (Exit 44), South Portland.
- From Portland, (82 miles): Take I-295 North to Exit 28, which is U.S. Route 1 North (Coastal Route) at Brunswick. Follow U.S. Route 1 to Thomaston. Rockland is four miles farther on Coastal Route One.
- Alternate route, from points south (Coastal U.S. Route 1 bypass): Many visitors use this route to bypass the heavy summer traffic on U.S. Route 1: Take I-95 to Exit 109 (Augusta) and follow Route 17 East into the City of Rockland. Downtown is to the right.
- From Quebec, Canada: Take 73 South to 173 South. At the U.S. border, 173 South becomes 201 South. Exit 95 South, continue to the City of Augusta. In Augusta, take17 east to Rockland.

June 1st through October 31, 2009
Monday - Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Off-Season:
November 1, 2009 through May 31, 2010
Closed Sunday-Tuesday
Open: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
5. Is there an admission fee?
Admission:
Adults: $5.00
Seniors: $4.00
Children under 12 are free
6. When is the Lighthouse Depot Annex Gift Shop open?
The Lighthouse Depot Annex Gift Shop is open whenever the Museum is open. This attractive gift shop offering thousands of items, many with a lighthouse or nautical theme at every price point. There are some unique items available online.
7. Where do you park?
There ia available parking in the Trade Winds Motel parking lot directly across from the Museum or at the Public Parking Lot at Harbor Park.
8. Is the Museum wheelchair accessible?
Yes.
9. How can I purchase tickets for a group?

10. Is photography or videography permitted in the Museum?
Photos are permitted in the Museum. You need special permssion to take videos.
11. Are there any shops or restaurants nearby?
Conveniently located near more than 16 restaurants, 12 galleries, 21 unique retail shops, full service hotels, motor inns, bed & breakfasts, and campgrounds as well as these area attractions...many in walking or short driving distance.
12. How can I donate to the Museum?
We welcome in-kind and monetary donations. As a 501.3.C, donations made to the Maine Lighthouse Museum are tax deductible. Sometimes it is not cash you give, but some other valuable service.
13. How can I become a member?
As part of the Maine Lighthouse Museum's strategic plan to grow its mission, the organization's board of directors is dedicated to increasing membership to the Museum. To that end we are inviting you to become a member to help us strengthen our commitment to conserve this world-class collection of lighthouse artifacts. Each membership to the Museum helps us to cover the costs of sharing this collection with the thousands of visitors each year. 16. Do you need volunteers?
There is an array of volunteer opportunities available at the Maine Lighthouse Museum. Volunteers are critical to the Museum's daily operation and long-term success. Become a museum docent/guide, or volunteer at the gift shop or work behind the scenes with clerical and hands-on activities. No prior knowledge of lighthouses or maritime history is necessary. Training is provided.
17. Can I rent rooms at the museum?
The Maine Lighthouse Museum proudly houses the largest and most significant collection of lighthouse artifacts in the United States. This museum of historic treasures is also equipped to serve you and your company as a distinctive venue for meetings, workshops, and celebrations!
